An integral part of our Vision at BBNC, is Connecting People, Promoting Knowledge. The latest initiative "Growing Greater Readers" supported by the Balmoral Opportunity Shop and the Shire of Southern Grampians Beyond the Bell, does exactly that, through the love of books.

We recently launched a "little library" at BBNC, where young book lovers can browse through a range of pre loved books with the option of taking home a book for their own collection.

The "Growing Greater Readers" project is well placed in the BBNC waiting room and a wonderful distraction to children who may be a little anxious while they wait for a dental appointment or a visit to the doctor when they feel unwell. They can find a good book and take it home to enjoy. We partner with the Balmoral Opportunity Shop, who screen, supply and then refill our shelves when required with a broad range of reading materials. This Shire of Southern Grampians initiative has been well received as it assists and encourages children to read, a life skill worth nurturing.

We encourage visitors to the Centre to enjoy the books and take a book home with them, to keep.

We welcome anyone who has some books that need a new home to bring in their pre loved books, that are in good condition, to the Balmoral Opportunity Shop in Glendinning St Balmoral.
