Residents of Glenelg House are now being presented with meal options served directly to them from our in-home meal service system.

Residents of Glenelg House are now being presented with meal options served directly to them from our in-home meal service system.

This new person centred care experience for our residents has met with great success. Previously meals would be delivered to the resident already plated up based on their menu choice 4 weeks prior. The new system allows residents to choose from options presented each meal time from our mobile servery unit. The residents’ meal experience is enhanced by person to person interaction for their needs, choice of meal, greater socialisation, visual stimulation and sensory improvements with food aromas.

The Murray to Moyne Committee has provided the funds for the purchase of the new mobile servery unit. Family members and other community volunteers assist staff to provide this service.

You can support the Hospital and Glenelg House through you support of the Murray to Moyne activities and by contacting the hospital to enquire about our volunteer programs.
