Dora the pony comes to visit!

It was a lovely, heartfelt morning at Otway Health on Friday 16 February with Dora the pony paying a special visit to patient, Joan, fulfilling her wish of being able to pat a horse. Joan was surrounded by family as she was greeted by Dora just outside reception.

Residents, Lisa and Mary also got the opportunity to say hello to the very placid 9 year old, feeding her carrots and giving her some very loving pats!

Well done to all staff involved in helping bring joy to Joan and her family, and a special thanks Meloney Howell for bringing in your special friend.

This is a beautiful demonstration of person centred care and highlights the importance of showing compassion, thoughtfulness and joy through the wonderful work that we do - well done and keep it up!
